Chris + Lindsey: Family Photos with a Surprise Ending

I have known Chris and Lindsey for several years. Their mastiff Peyton was a common celebrity in the office when I worked with Lindsey.  We have always talked about getting together for family photos with all their sweet pups. Bart the dachshund turned 13 this year, so photos became even more a priority.

With family photos already in the works, about six months ago Chris began talking to me about helping plan a surprise for Lindsey. Needless to say I have been keeping a secret for a very long time as we tried to schedule the session. Between the weather and Lindsey’s busy travel schedule I could not believe how patient Chris was. Fortunately, after raining all afternoon, the weather cleared just in time for our session that evening. It was a gorgeous night for photos!

We began by getting plenty of family photos. Two large mastiffs and a “senior” dachshund ensured there was plenty of laughter going on. As a proud dog mom myself, I absolutely love when families bring the fur kids to sessions! (I cannot get over how huge Winston is! Such a gentle giant)

Finally, it was time for some pictures of just Chris and Lindsey. Chris did a great job of providing plenty of comic relief (maybe it was nerves?) so I didn’t have to break out any of my own corny jokes. It was so evident the joy these two share. After a short battle with mosquitoes, Chris was ready for his surprise.

We had changed locations and while Lindsey was talking with my dog wrangler/assistant/sister, Rachel, Chris was able to sneak a ring out of his pocket. Lindsey turned around to see him on one knee ready to ask a very important question.

I loved being able to capture such a special moment for Lindsey. As you can see she was definitely surprised! The two were kind enough to let me get just a few more photos of the two of them. Then, it was time for them to enjoy the moment and share the news!

Congratulations on your engagement! Chris, thank you for letting me be a part of this. I could not be happier for the two of you. Looking forward to the wedding!
