Spring is one of my most favorite times of the year. The warm weather and saturated colors of trees and flowers blooming are a welcoming reprieve from cold, winter days. Rapid City did not disappoint in providing some beautiful backdrops for Clint and Tamra’s engagement photos. Bright pink blossoms, a happy bulldog and a sweet couple in love made this a great session to kick off the season!
Clint and Tamra are such a sweet couple. I had a feeling during our email communication leading up to the session that I was going to like this couple. I walked away from their engagement session with new friends. I’m not sure what made me love them more: the fact that they laughed at my terrible jokes or that they brought their sweet bulldog. Dogs are my jam. Dog people are my people. Yes, this was a session bound for greatness.
Back to Clint and Tamra: they hail from that “other” Dakota (but I try not to hold it against them). Part of their weekend was spent meeting with vendors for their Custer State Park wedding. We were able to piggyback off that and they met me in Rapid City for their engagement session. In addition to bringing Sir Tankerton, the bulldog, their adorable little girl joined us for a few pictures. I loved the color palette Tamra coordinated. Mint, blush and navy complimented the tall grasses and spring blossoms perfectly.
I love engagement sessions! It’s a great opportunity for the couple and me to get to know one another before the big wedding day. Personally, I loved having engagement pictures so I had some non-wedding photos to print and hang on our walls. Don’t get me wrong, I love wedding days and photos…but it’s also great to have photos that have a more natural, every day feel.
